The Crisis
Too many South Sudanese and African youth in Australia are falling through the cracks.
Some are caught in cycles of homelessness, addiction, crime, or mental health struggles. Others are simply disengaged from school, church, and community, silently drifting without guidance or support.
Behind these stories are often deeper issues:

Trauma from war or migration

Family breakdown or generational disconnection

Cultural identity struggles

Shame, silence, or hopelessness
If we don’t reach them early, many are pulled into destructive paths—but there is hope.
Our Response
At Light Along My Path (LAMP), we are committed to finding and walking with at-risk youth, especially those who feel forgotten or rejected by society.
Our Youth Off the Streets initiative focuses on:

🧑🏫 One-on-one mentoring with culturally aware leaders

📖 Biblically grounded identity coaching

🛠️ Connecting youth to services (counselling, housing, legal aid)

🎤 Testimony sharing and creative expression workshops

🤝 Church and community re-engagement
We build relationships slowly, with trust and consistency. We are not just running programs—we are restoring identity and inviting young people to rediscover their purpose in Christ.

This program reaches:

Youth in public housing or temporary accommodation

Those affected by drug use, trauma, or street violence

Students on the verge of expulsion or dropout

Young men and women who say, “No one ever believed in me”
Through regular contact, trust-building, and discipleship, lives are turning around.

$50 AUD funds a youth mentoring session

$1,000 AUD supports a monthly mentoring & outreach program for disengaged youth

$5,000 AUD funds a seasonal retreat or leadership weekend for at-risk youth
