Women’s Advocacy & Anti–Child Marriage Campaign
Every girl deserves to be protected, educated, and empowered.
The Crisis
In many parts of South Sudan, child marriage remains a tragic reality. More than 40% of girls are married before the age of 18—some as young as 12. These early unions often result in lifelong physical, emotional, and spiritual harm, and cut short any chance at education, health, or economic freedom.
Child marriage is not just a cultural issue—it is a violation of human dignity and a deep spiritual wound in our communities.
Our Response
At Light Along My Path (LAMP), we believe in the God-given value of every girl. Through our Women’s Advocacy program, we stand boldly against early marriage and speak life over our daughters.
We work directly with:
👵 Elders and tribal leaders
👨👩👧 Parents and caregivers
⛪ Faith leaders and church communities
Through:
📚 Workshops and dialogue forums
🎙️ Testimonies and storytelling from survivors
📖 Biblical teaching on dignity, purpose, and protection
🛡️ Community-based prevention strategies
Our goal is not to shame, but to transform thinking through truth, love, and hope.
💡 Why This Matters
Child marriage often results in:
-
Girls being pulled out of school
-
Early and unsafe pregnancies
-
Loss of childhood, freedom, and opportunity
-
Long-term emotional trauma and poverty
By equipping leaders and raising awareness, we are breaking generational cycles and releasing girls into their God-given potential.
