Hello
Because every young life matters.
The Challenge
Many young people from South Sudanese and African backgrounds in Australia face enormous challenges. From trauma and cultural disconnection to discrimination, loneliness, and identity loss, they often struggle in silence. Some turn to isolation, addiction, or even thoughts of suicide.
Without safe spaces, mentorship, or culturally aware support, many of these young lives fall through the cracks.
Youth Empowerment & Suicide Prevention
What We Do
Light Along My Path (LAMP) is a registered Touchpoint organisation dedicated to walking alongside youth who are hurting,
at risk, or simply trying to find their place in the world.
Through our Youth Empowerment & Suicide Prevention Program, we offer:
✅ Trauma-informed mentoring and pastoral care
✅ Culturally safe workshops on identity, resilience, and mental health
✅ Story-sharing circles that encourage healing through testimony
✅ Referrals to counselling and support services
✅ Safe, faith-based spaces where young people feel heard and valued
We collaborate with local churches, schools, and community organisations to build a holistic support system for youth and their families
💡 Real Impact
Many of the youth we serve have witnessed family breakdown, lost loved ones to war, or grown up without strong role models. LAMP becomes a bridge—restoring hope, identity, and direction for a new generation.
Our programs speak to the soul, offering not just help, but healing.
